sorry about the quality, i don't think blogger does/has ftp.
so it's recorded over the phone.
good canadian band, them arrogant worms.
peter and deanna saw them last summer in victoria. they said they played one song called 'i hurt my groin'.
and that's all the song was, "i hurt my groin... i hurt my groin", over and over again.

Hmmm...

I'm not sure the Americans get to chime in on this one.

Ha!

What a hillarious song! Too fun. Thanks for sharing.

(I've never been able to get that AudioBlogger to work... perhaps I should try again just to make sure everyone knows how to pronounce "y'all" correctly)

oh my. thanks for that Victoria! it's fun... good cultural overview w. Canadian humour... [at least from what i know] ...

oh.. and Stacy... u'll just have to visit sometime... :)

Elizabeth,

A visit sounds like a lovely idea. Perhaps next year. Other world travels mark my agenda first. Amazing as this may sound Canada doesn't top my list of "exotic lands" to which to travel, as appealing as "The Arrogant Worms" made it out to be and all. ;)

Having said all of that I don't visit Kansas in the winter because of its beautiful landscape (can you say flat, brown nothingness?). I go because that's where friends (and family) await. At this rate it seems that Canada may offer the same. :)

My compliments to you all.

well...ottawa is kind of pretty, but BC... out where St. Herman's is... they have Mountians and the Ocean, not to mention Vancouver Island near by...

Stacy said...

I've been to BC actually. Victoria to be specific. A LONG time ago.

sure, the americans can chime in!

Yes, Canadians are a funny bunch, self-deprecating, self-loathing even, but with a massive superiority complex. Quietly, but fiercely patriotic.
We are an odd bunch, I'll admit.
But you can be an honorary Canadian, if you wish..

on second thought, I think I'd rather have a nice distinctive, American y'all thrown in for good measure.

Krista's brother Jordan absolutely loves the Arrogant Worms!

me too!
and they're from Edmonton, so you must have many opportunities to see them live.
have you?

Only the Arrogant Worms could get away with a song like this! Their "The Last Saskatchewan Pirate" is one of my favorites.

And yes, Stacy, you should definitely not bother visiting Canada. After all, who really wants to dig themselves out from under six feet of snow in mid-July? And our igloos are awfully hard to keep warm... ;-)

I've not seen the Worms myself, but I did recently see Captain Tractor in September at Hawrelak Park, and there was some controversy over who actually wrote "The Last Saskatchewan Pirate:" Captain Tractor or the Arrogant Worms. I know they've both recorded it and play it pretty often live...
As far as I can tell, correct me if I'm wrong Fr. Justin, is that it's a Captain Tractor song.
